SUBJECT: A Resolution of the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida, Dedicating Hallandale Beach City Marina to the Public for Recreational Uses for a Minimum of Twenty-Five Years. CAD# 031/03
PURPOSE
City Commission consider and adopt a Resolution dedicating Hallandale Beach City Marina for public recreational uses for twenty-five (25) years as required by the Broward Boating Improvement Program (BBIP) Grant.
BACKGROUND
On October 21, 2003, the City Commission approved Resolution #2003-29 providing for the construction of a public marina and authorizing the City Manager to obtain available grants, including a grant from the Broward Boating Improvement Program (BBIP), and to execute the necessary documents to obtain the grants. The agreement was a matching grant in the amount of $180,000 from the County and $180,000 from the City.
DISCUSSION
As a requirement of the grant agreement, the City is required to dedicate the project for public recreational uses for a minimum of twenty-five (25) years.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Commission adopt the attached Resolution dedicating Hallandale Beach City Marina for public recreational uses for twenty-five years.
