Public Services

Sanitation Services is responsible for the collection and disposal of both commercial and residential garbage and the recovery of recyclable materials.  These services also include bulk trash and yard waste collection. The goal is to provide customers with convenient quality services by keeping streets clean, reduce disposal fees, and increase recycling rates and maintain a competitive rate.  Sanitation Services also monitors the performance of private haulers in the City.  Click here to learn more about the Sanitation Services offered by the City

The Landscaping/Grounds Maintenance Services section serves the City of Hallandale Beach by maintaining the grounds for all City-owned properties, which include parks and beaches, Municipal Complex, street medians, Fire Department, vacant lots, and various right-of-ways, a total of approximately 2.5 million square feet. As part of the maintenance, City crews fertilize, cut, edge, trim, and provide weed control to all assigned areas. This section is also responsible for the maintenance and physical operation of the cemetery.  Click here to learn about the Landscaping Programs offered by the City.

This section is responsible for beautification projects, beach cleaning, installation of irrigation systems, and for the annual Holiday Lights Award Program. The Landscaping/Grounds Maintenance Services section also sponsors the Beautification Award Program which encourages residents to beautify the community by keeping a well maintained and aesthetically pleasing landscape.

The Construction Services section provides maintenance to all City facilities such as City Hall, Police Department and the Fire Stations and all City Parks. All major renovations and minor alteration work are completed in an efficient, cost-effective manner. This section is also responsible for building and installing various items for departments within the City and ensure all repairs and renovations meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.

Each year, Staff of Construction Services diligently works at installing the holiday lights along Hallandale Beach Boulevard and the holiday lights and props for the holiday lighting ceremony.

The Fleet Services Division is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of all City vehicles in addition to the development and administration of a preventive maintenance program, the fuel system, and the city replacement program.

The replacement program involves the recommendation and justification of vehicles for replacement or retention for continued usage. The Fleet Services Division maintains over 300 pieces of motorized and non-motorized vehicles and equipment. This division operates six (6) days per week, Monday through Saturday, ten (10) hours each day.
