Overview

The Development Services Department strives to provide quality service to residents and business owners as well as developers and contractors doing business in the city. The Department's efforts can be seen through continuing development and redevelopment throughout the City. 

Mission

The Department's mission is to protect the health, safety and welfare of Hallandale Beach residents while enhancing the City's aesthetic appearance, maintaining responsible growth management principles and providing high-quality customer service.

The Development Services Department is comprised of the following Divisions:

 
BUILDING DIVISION
The Building Division implements the minimum requirements of the Florida Building Code (FBC) and Broward County Administrative Provisions currently in effect to safeguard the public health, safety and general welfare.  For additional information CLICK HERE

CODE COMPLIANCE DIVISION
The Code Compliance Division strives to protect and maintain neighborhood aesthetics and the safety of the public through the enforcement of City ordinances and minimum property maintenance standards.  For additional information CLICK HERE

LOCAL BUSINESS LICENSING
Any person engaging in, conducting or managing any business in the City of Hallandale Beach is required to first obtain a Local Business Tax Receipt. For additional information CLICK HERE

PLANNING AND ZONING DIVISION
The Planning and Zoning Division staff manages various tasks including; short and long range planning, land development actions, processing development review applications, and review of building permit applications. In addition, staff works closely with property owners, developers, designers and contractors in the development and redevelopment of the City.
