    Special Magistrate Hearing Special Magistrate Hearings allow property owners the opportunity to dispute a code compliance case before an unbiased Special Magistrate in a quasi-judicial proceeding. The Magistrate will hear sworn testimony from City Code Staff, then the property owner will be given the opportunity to speak and provide photographs, expert reports or legal documents to dispute a violation. Accepted materials include: residential paint (1 gallon size), tires (max of 4 per visit), fluorescent light bulbs, vehicle batteries, household batteries, electronic materials, used motor oil, household cleaners, and anti-freeze. DO NOT bring explosives, bio-hazard waste or business waste.

    Litter Clean-Up in the Southwest Volunteers are welcomed to help pick up litter along SW 1st Street and SW 8th Ave. Garbage bags, reusable buckets, biodegradable gloves, and pick-sticks will be provided. Park and meet at Ingalls Park. Attendees must wear closed toed shoes and bring their own water. Wearing sun-protective clothing or reef-safe sunscreen is strongly encouraged.
