Beach Safety

Overview

The Hallandale Beach Beach Safety Division consists of full and part time lifeguards responsible for ensuring safety throughout the City's municipal beach.  Beach Safety personnel are all Open Water Lifeguards certified by the United States Lifesaving Agency (USLA) and are trained to respond to medical emergencies.  Our agency is certified by the United States Lifesaving Agency (USLA).

The beach is open 365 days a year.  Summer protected hours are 9:45am - 6:00pm March to November.  Winter protected hours are 9:45am - 5:00pm November to March.

While our lifeguards strive to keep residents and visitors as safe as possible when something happens, it is better to prevent a dangerous situation in the first place. Below are the USLA’s Top Ten Beach Safety Tips to keep you and your friends and family safe when you visit the beach:

Next time you're at South City Beach Park sanitize your hands and grab a bucket at the lifeguard stand to pick up marine debris while you enjoy the beach. Empty the trash into the nearest trash can, return the bucket, and feel good about helping our environment & wildlife.

If you find a Constant Beach Clean Up Bucket, please return it to the closest lifeguard stand.
