Return to Play - Phase Three

The City of Hallandale Beach is currently in a phased partial reopening of our Parks and the City Marina.

We are currently in Phase Three partial reopening now includes expanded Park Hours and open amenities including pavilions, restrooms and parking lots.

Reservations are now being accepted for rentals starting August 1st.

Due to pandemic related staffing issues, we are phasing in programming.

Registration Open for the OB Johnson Teen Zone and Memorial Senior Partners Program.  

The Teen Zone Summer Program opened June 14th and the School Year program opens August 18th.  

The Memorial Senior Partners Program opens August 2nd.

As we return to programming, all waivers and proof of residency must be updated.  Please bring identification and proof of residency (Hallandale Beach residents only) to expedite registration.  Registration is limited and COVID safety measures are strictly enforced.  

All participation in programs and activities in City of Hallandale Beach facilities must be in compliance with current COVID protocols.  

Entry into all indoor facilities requires a temperature scan and wearing of a mask at all times.  By registering for a program or activity, you are agreeing to follow all rules, regulations and guidelines in place at the time of your program.

In person registration accepted Monday - Thursday 8am - 5:30pm at the Cultural Community Center, 410 SE 3rd Street.

Phase Three Reservations

Reservations Now accepted for Indoor & Outdoor rentals. 

The City of Hallandale Beach indoor and outdoor Park rental facilities are reopening!  Rentals open August 1st for court, field, green space, pavilion, and room rentals.  

We have new COVID requirements and expectations at this time to keep you, other park patrons, and our staff safe.

As we return to offering reservations, all proof of residency must be updated.  Please bring identification and proof of residency (Hallandale Beach residents only) to expedite your reservation.  

Reservations are offered on a first come first serve basis. and are accepted Monday - Thursday 8am - 5:30ppm at the Cultural Community Center, 410 SE 3rd Street. 


The City welcomes its residents to enjoy our reopened facilities while adhering to specific guidelines and restrictions.  Please help us keep our facilities open by following all guidelines, rules and regulations.

Beach Operations

The City welcomes visitors to the Beach with the following guidelines:

North City Beach Park public parking hours are 7:30am to 7pm. Valet parking at Etaru Restaurant is available after 7pm.

South City Beach Park public parking hours are 7:30am - Dusk.   Vehicles left at South City Beach Park after dusk are subject to towing.

Park Operations

The City welcomes visitors to all Park Facilities with the following guidelines:

  • All Park ordinances, rules and regulations are in effect.
  • All Park hours are 7:30am - Dusk except for scheduled activities.
  • Tennis Courts at OB Johnson Park  are Open Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm.  Tennis & Racquetball Courts at Peter Bluesten Park are open 7:00am - Dusk. Play is first come first serve, reservations are being accepted for reservations on or after August 1st.  Maximum 8 tennis balls per court.  Lessons and/or Commercial activity are strictly prohibited without prior written permission from the City.
  • All organized athletics require a permit.  Reservations are now accepted for reservations on or after August 1st.
  • The City Marina is open for boat owner access per normal schedule.

Off-Leash Dog Park Visitors

The City welcomes visitors to Joseph Scavo Off-Leash Dog Park with the following guidelines:

  • The Joseph Scavo Dog Park will be open 7:30am to Dusk daily except for Wednesdays.
  • The Joseph Scavo Dog Park remains closed every Wednesday for maintenance.
  • The Golden Isles Dog Park opens Saturday, June 12th and will be open 7:30am to Dusk daily except for Thursdays.
  • The Golden Isles Dog Park remains closed every Thursday for maintenance.
  • The Dog Parks will remain closed during inclement weather.
  • All Dog Park ordinances, rules and regulations are in effect.
  • Visitors may not enter the park if they or their dog are exhibiting symptoms or are sick.

ALL Visitors

  • Park visitors are required to enter the parks only through the designated entry/ gate.
  • Visitors are not permitted to use parks if they are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Anyone in violation of the guidelines will be instructed to leave the park/ beach and will be prohibited from further use of the park/ beach for the remainder of the day. Refusal to leave upon the instruction of a City staff person or return to the park/ beach after ejection is subject to enforcement as provided in Florida Statutes Chapter 870 and/or Chapter 1, Section 1-8, Code of Ordinances, City of Hallandale Beach, and any other applicable laws.

Use Restrictions

The following activities and amenities will remain closed.  Please prepare for your visit accordingly:

  • Community Center/ Facilities except for scheduled activities.
  • Sports Lighting
  • All organized athletic leagues, games, races, pick-up games and tournaments, events, and facility rentals are suspended until August 1st

At this time, the BF James Pool, the Cultural Community Center, Gulfstream Academy Athletic Complex, Historic Hallandale School House, Historic Village, Teen Garden remain closed except for scheduled activities.
