Return to Play - Phase Four
The City of Hallandale Beach is currently in a phased partial reopening of our Parks and the City Marina.
We are currently in Phase Four full reopening. However, due to the COVID impact on Staffing, some programs and services may still be affected.
Due to pandemic related staffing issues, we are phasing in programming.
Registration Open for the OB Johnson Teen Zone and Memorial Senior Partners Program. OB Johnson Gyms open. Foster Park Library open.
The Teen Zone program at OB Johnson Park is fully open. For more information visit Teen Zone.

The OB Johnson Open Gym, Fitness Center and Computer Lab are now fully open. For more information visit OB Johnson.
The Foster Park Library is now fully open. For more information visit Foster Park.
As we return to programming, all waivers and proof of residency must be updated. Please bring identification and proof of residency (Hallandale Beach residents only) to expedite registration. Registration may be limited.
In person registration accepted Monday - Thursday 8am - 5:30pm at the Cultural Community Center, 410 SE 3rd Street.
Reservations Now accepted for Indoor & Outdoor rentals.
The City of Hallandale Beach indoor and outdoor Park rental facilities are open!
As we return to offering reservations, all proof of residency must be updated. Please bring identification and proof of residency (Hallandale Beach residents only) to expedite your reservation.
Reservations are offered on a first come first serve basis. and are accepted Monday - Thursday 8am - 5:30pm at the Cultural Community Center, 410 SE 3rd Street.
Beach Operations
The City welcomes visitors to the Beach with the following guidelines:
- All Park ordinances, rules and regulations are in effect.
- South City Beach Park and North City Beach Park will be open for Beach Access Sunrise to Sunset.
- Beach Public Parking, when open, is available by the PaybyPhone app, or pay by meter. Parking strictly enforced. Parking hours are as follows:
North City Beach Park public parking hours are 7:30am to 7pm. Valet parking at Etaru Restaurant is available after 7pm.
South City Beach Park public parking hours are 7:30am - Dusk. Vehicles left at South City Beach Park after dusk are subject to towing.
- Hallandale Beach Rescue Lifeguards will be on duty 9:30am - 6pm daily.
- Our beach is accessible to everyone. Beach access wheelchairs can be pre-reserved through Beach Rescue.
Park Operations
The City welcomes visitors to all Park Facilities with the following guidelines:
- All Park ordinances, rules and regulations are in effect.
- All Park hours are 7:30am - Dusk except for scheduled activities.
- Tennis Courts at OB Johnson Park are Open Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm. Tennis & Racquetball Courts at Peter Bluesten Park are open 7:00am - Dusk. Play is first come first serve unless reserved. Maximum 8 tennis balls per court. Lessons and/or Commercial activity are strictly prohibited without prior written permission from the City.
- All organized athletics require a permit.
- The City Marina is open for boat owner access per normal schedule.
Off-Leash Dog Park Visitors
The City welcomes visitors to Joseph Scavo Off-Leash Dog Park with the following guidelines:
- The Joseph Scavo Dog Park is open 7:30am to Dusk daily except for Wednesdays.
- The Joseph Scavo Dog Park remains closed every Wednesday for maintenance.
- The Golden Isles Dog Park is open 7:30am to Dusk daily except for Thursdays.
- The Golden Isles Dog Park remains closed every Thursday for maintenance.
- The Dog Parks will remain closed during inclement weather.
- All Dog Park ordinances, rules and regulations are in effect.
- Visitors may not enter the park if they or their dog are exhibiting symptoms or are sick.
ALL Visitors
- Anyone in violation of the guidelines will be instructed to leave the park/ beach and will be prohibited from further use of the park/ beach for the remainder of the day. Refusal to leave upon the instruction of a City staff person or return to the park/ beach after ejection is subject to enforcement as provided in Florida Statutes Chapter 870 and/or Chapter 1, Section 1-8, Code of Ordinances, City of Hallandale Beach, and any other applicable laws.
At this time, due to staffing impact, the BF James Pool, remains closed except for scheduled activities.
