Looking to host a Special Event in the City of Hallandale Beach?  The City of Hallandale Beach encourages festivals, events and/or programming that promotes community engagement, cultural development, tourism and economic development.

A Temporary Use-Special Event permit issued by the Department of Sustainable Development is required for events held indoors and promotional events that change the city approved use of the facility as well as to hold an outdoor special event that involves street closures or includes event components requiring the coordination of a number of city departments or other agencies, or involves activities such as the use of alcohol, on-site commercial cooking, food sales or large scale temporary structures. 

Examples of special events that are required to obtain a permit are concerts, festivals, parades, carnivals, athletic events, flea or farmers market, food truck events, outdoor community events, and other similar uses for a temporary nature.

Temporary uses are governed by Chapter 32, Article 4, Division 20 of the City Code.

A building permit may be required for temporary structures.  Building Permits are submitted here.

Events that are held on City Property also require a facility reservation through the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department and will have additional insurance requirements.

Parades are governed by Chapter 28, Article III of the City Code.  Parade refers to any parade, march, ceremony, show, exhibition, pageant, or procession of any kind, or any similar display, in or upon any street, park, or other public place in the City. 

Parades also require a Parade Permit through the City of Hallandale Beach Police Department.
