SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard Safety Improvements Project

Start Date: July 29, 2019

Completion Date: Spring 2020

Project Length: .17 miles

Project Limits: SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard from east of the South Florida Rail Corridor (SFRC) crossing to the west of Ansin Boulevard

Contractor: Weekley Asphalt Paving, Inc

Estimated Construction Cost: $2,257,890

Scope of Work:

Project improvements include milling and resurfacing the existing pavement along Hallandale Beach Boulevard from the SFRC crossing to west of Ansin Boulevard; widening and resurfacing the I-95 northbound off-ramp to Hallandale Beach Boulevard, to provide an additional right-turn lane; widening and resurfacing the I-95 southbound off-ramp to Hallandale Beach Boulevard, to extend vehicle storage capacity of the right-turn lane; upgrading the existing traffic signals at the intersections of Hallandale Beach Boulevard and the I-95 off-ramps; reconstructing the sidewalks and pedestrian crossings on the I-95 northbound off-ramp to Hallandale Beach Boulevard; and upgrading the existing lighting along the I-95 off-ramps to Hallandale Beach Boulevard and underneath the I-95 bridge to LED lighting.

Project Limits: SR 824/Pembroke Road from west of Dixie Highway to east of South 21st Avenue/Northeast 1st Avenue

Scope of Work:

Project improvements include upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms; installing crosswalks, pedestrian signal crossings, and associated curb ramps; upgrading existing lighting to LED; and milling and resurfacing the roadway.

Project improvements include widening the I-95 off-ramps at Pembroke Road to accommodate an additional right turn lane; minor shoulder widening of the I-95 on-ramps at Pembroke Road; upgrading the existing traffic signals at the intersections of Pembroke Road and the I-95 off-ramps; upgrading the existing lighting along the I-95 on and off-ramps at Pembroke Road to LED lighting; reconstructing the sidewalks and pedestrian crossings at the I-95 off-ramps and the I-95 northbound on-ramp at Pembroke Road; and milling and resurfacing within the project limits.

Project Limits: 14th Avenue from Atlantic Shores Boulevard to Sheridan Street

Contractor: Acosta Tractors, Inc.

Estimated Construction Cost: $2,099,354

Scope of Work:

Project improvements include widening the roadway to accommodate bike lanes on 14th Avenue, Arthur Street, and Harding Street; adding shared lane pavement markings along 14th Avenue and Harding Street, to enhance the safe travel of bicycles and motor vehicles in the same traffic lane; and installing a shared-use path (off-road path) on Polk Street and 14th Avenue.
