RIP CURRENT ADVISORY

City of Hallandale Beach residents and visitors, please be advised that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a Rip Current Statement Alert for coastal Miami-Dade County, Broward County and Palm Beach County from today, Thursday, February 6, 2020 to tomorrow evening, Friday, February 7, 2020.

The Rip Current Advisory Statement warns gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

Rip currents have the potential to sweep even experienced swimmers away from the shore and into deep water. Therefore, please take precautionary/preparedness actions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
