On Wednesday, February 3, 2021 the City of Hallandale Beach Commission voted and approved the selection of Interim City Manager/ CRA Executive Director Jeremy Earle, Ph.D., AICP, FRA-RA to serve as the new Hallandale Beach City Manager. The City Attorney will negotiate an employee contract agreement for Dr. Earle, which will be presented during an upcoming Commission meeting.
Dr. Earle joined the City of Hallandale Beach in May 2017 as Assistant City Manager and has been serving as Interim City Manager since being appointed by the Commission on August 12th, 2020. He has also served as the City’s Community Redevelopment Agency’s Executive Director since January 2019.
‘He hit the ground running.” said Mayor Joy Cooper during his appointment discussion, “He continues to strive to right this ship, to be open and transparent. “It has been a real pleasure working with Dr. Earle.” said Vice Mayor Michael Butler. “He’s uniquely qualified to do this job as a City Manager/ Executive CRA Director – there is not another person that exists who is more qualified.”
“I am humbled by your faith in me” said Dr. Earle. “More Importantly, I do this because there is truly a need for stability in this City. I have had the opportunity to work with the most amazing staff in the City of Hallandale Beach and every member of this team is important. We are going to do our best as a team. I appreciate the opportunity to serve the City of Hallandale Beach in this capacity.”
Dr. Earle previously served as a Deputy Director for the Fort Lauderdale Department of Sustainable Development and CRA Executive Director for the City of Dania Beach. He has over 20 years public and private sector experience.
