Hurricane Ian

FLOOD WATCH and TROPICAL STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FOR SOUTH FLORIDA

Much of South Florida remains at risk from significant impacts.  A Tropical Storm watch remains in effect for Hallandale Beach through this evening
. Per the National Weather Service, all tropical threats are still possible for South Florida including damaging wind, storm surge and heavy rainfall.

The City continues to prepare for any impacts from Hurricane Ian.
All lift stations are working,  City sanitation and mini bus services will remain on their regular schedule until further notice.

There is also a possibility of compound flooding as we are also expecting King Tide over the next few days as well.  Based on the rain and King Tides, we can expect there will be some flooding throughout the City.

There is no sand bag distribution scheduled.  Residents are reminded it is illegal to remove sand from the beach.  Please plan ahead and visit your local home improvement store for bags and sand or a suitable alternative.
