SEA TURTLE SEASONSea Turtle Nesting Season is from March 1st through October 31st each year. Our beach is the desired nesting habitat for three species of endangered sea turtles: leatherbacks, loggerheads, and greens. During Sea Turtle Nesting Season, turtle-friendly lighting is required beachside to minimize disorientation and make Hallandale Beach more hospitable to these endangered species. Each morning, County crews check for new nests. Identified nests are documented and secured to help ensure the Sea Turtle's well-being. Our beach cleaning crew waits for the all-clear before accessing the beach for dragging and trash removal each morning. We appreciate your patience as we work to clear the beach. Everyone must do their part to ensure future successful nesting seasons on Hallandale Beach.
