Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award Nominations Are Due Today

Our Human Services Department is accepting nominations for the 2023 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award for individuals who help progress equality and exemplify inclusivity, collaboration, and trustworthiness in our Hallandale Beach community. The International Coastal Cleanup Returns Next Month

Join us as we "seas" the day with Broward County and the Ocean Conservancy during the annual International Coastal Cleanup on September 16, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at South City Beach Park (1870 S. Ocean Drive). Every year, over one million volunteers across over 120 countries participate worldwide to help keep our waterways clean of trash. To participate, please register in advance, and bring a hat, gloves, sunscreen, and water. As a thank you, we’ll cover your parking! Registration is still open for our 2023 Girls Fall Volleyball Program! Practices will take place at the OB Johnson Park Gym, and the registration fee covers a jersey, games and practices, and a year-end banquet. Teen Zone After School Program

Although summer is almost over, that doesn’t mean the fun needs to stop. Our Teen Zone after school program registration is open for teens ages 13 through 17-years-old. This program offers Hallandale Beach teen residents peace of mind, study hours, new friends, volunteer activities, career development programs, and so much more! Stay Active with a Free Youth Gym Membership

Thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Fenstersheib Law Group, PA, youth residents can receive a FREE annual membership for the OB Johnson Park Open Gym program. Open Gym is a drop-in program that allows our community to enjoy the basketball and volleyball courts at OB Johnson Park gym. A one-time, in-person parental registration is required. Golden Isles Park Off Leash Dog Areas Temporary Closure
|

Starting on Monday, August 28, 2023, the Golden Isles Park Off Leash Dog Areas (500 Egret Drive) will be be closed for approximately three weeks while we replace the natural grass with K-9 Classic artificial grass. Don't worry though, the Joseph Scavo Off Leash Dog Areas (900 Three Islands Boulevard) will remain open daily, except for Wednesdays, so you can still enjoy playtime with your pup.

The holiday parking rate of $5.00 per hour is in effect on Labor Day weekend from September 1, 2023, through September 4, 2023, at North City Beach Park and South City Beach Park. Hallandale Beach False Alarm Reduction Program
In 2022 alone, the City of Hallandale Beach Police Department answered over 10,000 false alarm calls. To reduce the amount of false calls they respond to, they recently acquired CryWolf, an alarm monitoring program, that manages alarm correspondence and invoices to maximize compliance and engagement with alarm users. Businesses owners and residents with alarm systems are required to register for CryWolf by October 1, 2023. Click here to register for CryWolf.
