In accordance with the City’s Emergency Management Procedures, the City has declared a State of Emergency to better prepare and address any impacts from Hurricane Irma. The signed Declaration is available here.
The Declaration activates the City’s Emergency Operations Plan and allows the City to act expeditiously to provide emergency services and take any action necessary to protect and ensure the health, safety and welfare of its residents and the community.
The City urges all residents and business interests to stay vigilant and adhere to all Broward County mandatory evacuation orders and hurricane procedures and plans. If you choose not to evacuate when ordered, you remain at your own risk.
All residents and business interests should take timely precautions and safeguards to protect their safety, well-being and property interests. Please be sure to secure all property that may still be outside on your property.
Please note the following key activities and dates:
- Non-essential City services will cease at the end of business day Thursday September 7th until further notice.
- Garbage pickup operations will continue to operate normal until further notice.
- All City facilities, including parks, and the community center, will cease operations at the end of the day Thursday, September 7th, until further notice.
