HALLANDALE BEACH OCEAN RESCUE ISSUES PRECAUTIONS FOR BEACH GOERS

HB Ocean Rescue Issues Precautions for Beach Goers

Purple caution flags are currently posted on the shores of Hallandale Beach indicating the presence of dangerous marine life. The Portuguese Man-Of-War have recently been sighted in the water and on the beaches along the East Coast of Florida. Their beautiful colors often attract people for a closer look but beach goers are warned to not approach these creatures on the sand or in the water, as the tentacles may deliver a very painful sting to individuals. Beach goers are also warned to not attempt to remove the tentacles with bare hands. If stung, individuals should go to one of the four lifeguard towers for treatment.
