Volunteers are welcomed to help pick up litter along SW 1st Street and SW 8th Ave. Garbage bags, reusable buckets, biodegradable gloves, and pick-sticks will be provided.
Park and meet at Ingalls Park.
Attendees must wear closed toed shoes and bring their own water. Wearing sun-protective clothing or reef-safe sunscreen is strongly encouraged.
This is part of a series of regular community litter clean-ups, which will rotate to each quadrant of the City. The days of the clean-ups with alternate Saturdays and Sundays to ensure members of the faith-based community may have opportunities to participate.
In the words of early American Environmentalist, Aldo Leopold:
"We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect."
