This historic Hallandale Beach home was built by Frank and Rosina Curci in 1924. "Villa Providence" was constructed of concrete-filled terra-cotta block walls with Dade pine floors and imported Cuban tile details throughout. The most extraordinary feature was the array of imported Italian color glass that was imbedded in the exterior stucco finish. The glass sparkled in the sunlight and glowed in the moonlight. The house withstood the Great Hurricane of 1926 and sheltered dozens of nearby residents whose homes were damaged and destroyed. The home was obtained and rehabilitated by the City in 2007 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 24, 2014.
